Chiropody and Podiatry

I attended The Sussex School of Chiropody and Podiatry graduating in 1987.

Initially I worked within the NHS gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of chiropody. Following the birth of my daughter in 2003 I decided to reduce my NHS hours and to start working in the private sector based at Ingledale.

I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and as such participate in regular training which keep my skills and knowledge up to date.

I am also a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists who are responsible for the regulation of  clinical working practices. This ensures that patients receive a safe and quality treatment.

In my spare time I enjoy running, golf and walking my dogs so feel that I can empathise with my patients when they maybe experiencing problems that effect their enjoyment of their chosen activity.

I offer a professional but friendly service and am always happy to discuss your foot problems.

I offer a domiciliary service so if you are unable to attend Ingledale then I am able to provide treatment within the comfort of your home.

Description of therapy

Podiatry is a clinical speciality dealing with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions. Podiatrists can assess, treat and advise on all foot conditions aiming to cure and alleviate discomfort and prevent secondary problems
At the initial appointment a medical history will be taken and details concerning the foot problem will be discussed in order to formulate an appropiate treatment plan.

Appointments normally last for 30 mins.

Conditions that can be treated include the following:-

1. Routine nail care
2. Pathological/problem nails eg  Ingrown nails, Thickened nails, Traumatised nails, Fungal infections
3. Callous and corn removal
4. Heel fissures/cracks
5. Fungal and bacterial infections of the skin
6. Heel pain including plantar fasciitis
7. Forefoot pain
8. Diabetic foot management including annual reviews
9. Footwear advice
10. Bespoke silicon toe devices for toe deformities
11. Provision of insoles
12. Arthritic conditions
